A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based on data from 2007, indicates not only an increase of 3 million cases in just over two years, but that another 57 million people have a condition called pre-diabetes. Pre-Diabetes or Syndrome X or Metabolic Syndrome puts people at increased risk for NIDDM or Type II diabetes. Worse yet, a growing number of diabetics and pre-diabetics are children under the age of 10. It is being predicted that by their late teens, many children will be facing health challenges that used to only affect people in midlife. Obese children as young as 7 to 8 years old are now being studied, and it is being discovered that within 5 years they begin to develop kidney complications, hypertension, and high blood lipids, and are being treated with multiple medications. The drugs being used in these treatments have no history of use in this population, so doctors can only guess as to the outcome of long term treatment.

Although much is uncertain as to the future of children suffering from diabetes, one thing is certain. Diabetes is a disease that can be controlled by diet and exercise. Recently in our clinic we were privileged to witness the transformation that can occur from the combination of PRE and Nutritional Excellence. One of our clients started the Nutritional Excellence Program and in 21 days is Insulin free!

If you are paying attention to the media reports, this article might have popped onto your radar. It suggests that Statin drugs are a good thing for children who have elevated cholesterol and risk markers for heart disease, for it will help stave off the disease itself. The real truth is that anyone taking Statins such as Lipitor is not curing or reversing their heart disease, and will likely die as a result of taking these drugs and continuing to eat the Standard American Diet (SAD). There

is a lot of money spent on the marketing of these drugs and there is reason to believe that the research that got them approved was manipulated by the drug companies.

What Americans are not being told, what the drug companies do not want the American public to know, is that heart disease can be reversed by proper nutrition. That’s right, no drugs, no expensive tests, no invasive procedures, just plain old fashioned food.

It’s time to start listening to those individuals who want you to be healthy America, not those who want you hooked on drugs, legal or otherwise.
