We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new stationary bicycle, manufactured by CycleOps, and are now offering for the first time at Santa Rosa Strength, sessions based on the Tabata protocol. The Tabata protocol was created by Dr. Izumi Tabata at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo, Japan.

The session consists a period of relaxation to determine resting heart rate, followed by a warm up period on the bike. Once the body is ready to go, we guide you through intervals that last 20 seconds followed by 10 second rest periods. After 8 cycles you are finished. The benefits of training this way are improved body fat loss, improved recovery heart rate, and improved cardiovascular efficiency.
